Places to See in Land Between The Lakes

Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area is just that - a recreation area filled with attractions and activities the whole family can enjoy.

Inside LBL, you'll find a living history farm at The Homeplace 1850s.  Enjoy educational and live animal exhibits at Woodlands Nature StationThe Elk & Bison Prairie gets you up-close and personal to some of the largest animals in the US.  Experience the stars and awesome educational programs at the Golden Pond Planetarium & Visitor Center.  Explore the vast history of Land Between The Lakes by visiting the Iron Furnaces.  And take a hike around the most picturesque small lake in this region - Hematite Lake.

While attractions in Land Between The Lakes abound, you'll also find a ton of activities to experience such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, camping, and exploring the water trails by kayak or canoe.  You can also load up your ATVs and off-road vehicles and head to the 2500-acre Turkey Bay OHV Area.  Visit our Things To Do in Land Between The Lakes section for details on these activities.

Attractions Outside Land Between The Lakes

While there's the "main attraction" - Land Between The Lakes - this place wouldn't be possible without the majestic Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley on our borders.

These two lakes form the largest body of water between the Great Lakes and the Gulf of Mexico.  And with so much water covering the area, you can enjoy a day of boating, tubing, fishing or anything else imaginable on these vast waters.

Nearby towns of Grand Rivers, Murray, Cadiz, and others offer their own set of "places to see".  Some of those options include:
