Welcome to Land Between The Lakes.com !
Located in western Tennessee and Kentucky, Land Between the Lakes (ie. LBL) is the largest inland peninsula in the U.S.A. Originally created when the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers were impounded (creating Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley), LBL features over 170,000 acres of forested & protected public land, and over 300 miles of undeveloped shoreline. Maintained and managed by the USDA Forest Service, LBL welcomes over 2 million visitors a year, and is the centerpoint of the region's $600 million dollar tourism industry.
LBL offers a wide range of activities, from camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and even motorcycle & ATV trails. And in addition, the surrounding Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley offer additional commercial amenities such as restaurants & resorts, and hotels .
Considered the 'heartland's outdoor playground', Land Between The Lakes is a recreational oasis. Come explore and create your own adventure! : )
The LandBetweenTheLakes.com website is a 100% volunteer and community based operation, and is in NO WAY affiliated with the government run LBL National Recreation Area. Their official website can be found here.
